Role Description
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Database Engineer to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in engineering and managing databases, particularly in multi-tenant environments using Supabase Postgres. You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining database infrastructure to support scalable SaaS applications. The role also requires building and securing APIs, implementing row-level security, and documenting complex systems for internal use. This is a full-time, salaried role that reports directly to senior leadership.
Salary Range
USD 525/month – USD 1000/month
Paid in Employee's Local Currency
Depending on experience and qualifications
Working Hours
48 Hours per Week
Monday–Saturday, 8 AM – 5 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST)
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer and manage scalable, secure, and optimized database solutions.
- Architect and maintain multi-tenant database systems with high performance and security.
- Design and implement Supabase Postgres databases with row-level authentication.
- Write efficient and secure SQL queries.
- Develop and maintain APIs to support database operations, ensuring seamless data access and manipulation.
- Implement JWT-based authentication mechanisms for secure API and data access.
- Implement industry-standard encryption on databases.
- Maintain compliance with security frameworks such as SOC2, ISO, and NIST.
- Maintain comprehensive database backups and disaster recovery protocols.
- Document database structures, APIs, and procedures with clarity and precision.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure database solutions align with application requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work on Pacific Standard Time
- Fluent in English
- Access to a Windows or Mac computer and a webcam for video meetings
- Installation of VPN software on the computer profile used for work
- Signing a non-disclosure agreement
- Employment verification with previous employers
- Successful completion of role-related aptitude and/or skills assessments
- Passing a comprehensive background check
- Exclusive Employment: Candidates must formally resign from any previous or current roles prior to commencing employment with MOR Financial; dual employment is not permitted. Proof of resignation may be requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of experience as a database engineer
- Proven track record of launching multi-tenant SaaS products
- Deep experience with Supabase Postgres databases and SQL
- Proficiency in building and securing APIs
- Mastery in Supabase row-level authentication and JWT-based security
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in SaaS, fintech, or investment tech environments
- Familiarity with additional cloud databases and architectures
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD for database operations
